LA FOLLE JOURNEE DE VARSOVIE

The Faculty of Jazz in the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School Complex was founded in 1992 and the Post-Secondary Jazz School was founded in 1997. Both have since become respected institutions in music circles. Many of our graduates are active on the Polish music scene, as well as abroad.

During the La Folle Journée Festival you will have an opportunity to hear an ensemble of our most talented students – Olga Boczar and Aleksandra Trzaska, and the Bednarska Quartet.

Olga Boczar and Aleksandra Trzaskaare students of the Henryk Majewski Post-Secondary Jazz School in Iza Zając’s class of jazz vocal and in Andrzej Jagodziński’s class of jazz improvisation.

Olga Boczar has already performed at Warsaw’s Jazz Jamboree Festival alongside MuBo. She has also received 2^nd prize at the Carpathia International Song Festival and has recently received a special honourable mention at the Warsaw Hopes Young Talents Festival in 2011. Olga’s voice stands out with its velvet, “cello-like” timbre. Apart from jazz standards she also performs her own songs.
