Marianna Bednarska is a student in the percussion class of Professor Henryk Mikołajczyk at theKarol Szymanowski State Music School Complex no. 4 in Warsaw.
Since the beginning of her education, she has been achieving spectacular success at international and national competitions, at which she has received eighteen 1st prizes. Her greatest achievements include 1st place at the M. Stasiniewicz National Percussion Competition in Warsaw in 2011, 1st place at the National Vibraphone Competition held under the Drumfest International Percussion Festival in Opole in 2010, 1st place at the International Marimba Competition in Paris in 2009, 1st place at the International Marimba Competition in Fermo (Italy) in 2008, as well as 1st place and Special Prize at the International Percussion Competition in Plovdiv (Bulgaria) in 2007.
She is a finalist of the Eurovision’s 2009 edition of the “Young Musician of the Year” competition.
She has performed many times as soloist in the most prestigious concert halls in Warsaw, in other cities in Poland and abroad in Bulgaria, the Ukraine, in Switzerland, Italy, France and Germany. She has also appeared a number of times on Polish Television.
Apart from solo performances, Marianna Bednarska has performed marimba concertos with symphony orchestras, including the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, the Lviv Philharmonic Orchestra, The Polish Radio Orchestra in Warsaw, and the K. Namysłowski Symphony Orchestra in Zamość. In June 2009 she was awarded the F. Wybrańczyk Artistic Scholarship of the Sinfonia Varsovia Foundation.
For her outstanding artistic achievements she has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and National Heritage in 2007,2008 and 2010, a “Young Poland” scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in 2008 and 2011 and the POLEST scholarship for performing artists in 2008. Marianna has also been receiving scholarships from the National Children’s Benefit Foundation since 2006.
