PRIMARY AND SECONDARY MUSIC SCHOOL IN JASTRZĘBIE ZDRÓJ: Flute Trio

The ensemble consists of the students of the Primary and Secondary State Music School in Jastrzębie Zdrój, under the direction of dr Aldona Ślusarz.

The ensemble’s notable achievements include a distinction during the 11th Primary and Secondary Music School Chamber Wind Ensemble Festival in Tarnowskie Góry (2007), 3rd place at the 14th Primary and Secondary Music School Chamber Wind Ensemble Festival in Tarnowskie Góry (2010) and 1st place with honours at the 59th European Chamber Ensemble Festival in Neerpelt (Belgium) in 2011.

Aldona Ślusarz has graduated from the Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the year 2000, in the class of dr Ryszard Sojka and has completed her post-graduate studies in the Academy of Music in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland in 2006 in the flute class of Professor Michel Bellavance.

She has taken part in many master classes with Bernard Goldberg, Philippa Davies, William Bennett, Marina Puccinini, Rien de Reede, Peter Lloyd, Aurèle Nicolet, Emmanuel Pahud and Jean-Louis Beaumadier.

She has performed with recitals in Germany, France, Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and in many cities in Poland.

Ślusarz has won the following prizes: Grand Prix at the International Instrumental Competition in Aberdeen (Great Britain) in 1998, 1st prize at the International Wind Instrument Competition in Weimar, Germany in 2000, 1st prize “summa cum laude” at the 49th Chamber Ensemble Festival in Neerpelt (Belgium, 2001), 2nd prize at the International Wind Instrument Competition in Martigues (France, 2002) and 2nd prize at the International Flute Competition in Bern (Switzerland,2005). She was also a finalist at the International Music Interpretation Competition in Neuchâtel (Switzerland, 2005).

In recognition of her achievements in the field of music she has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and Art, from the Hugo Kołłątaj Foundation and from the government of Switzerland.

In 1996 she undertook the position of flute teacher at the Primary and Secondary State Music School in Jastrzębie Zdrój and in 2000 she commenced work at the Faculty of Instruments at the Artistic Department of the Silesian University in Katowice, where she teaches flute.

In 2005 Ślusarz has obtained the title of doctor of music arts in instrumental music, specialising in flute at the Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.

In 2007 she recorded an album of flute sonatas by G. Fauré, Ch. M. Widor and C. Reinecke. In 2009 she recorded an album of chamber music by C. M. von Weber.
