STATE MUSIC SCHOOL COMPLEX IN KATOWICE: Szymon Bywalec / conductor

 

Violinist, teacher, composer and arranger. In 2001 Szymon Bywalec graduated with honours from the I.J Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań in the violin class of M. Baranowski. He is a laureate of many violin and chamber music competitions held in Lublin, Łódź, Cracow and Elbląg. He has received a number of scholarships from the Children’s Art Foundation. He has refined his playing skills by attending many courses, including the European Summer Academy of the Paul Hindemith Foundation in Blonay (Switzerland) and at the Summer Music Academy in Żagań.

Bywalec played concerts in Poland and abroad, also as a member of the AGUTTI QUARTET, Trio Taklamakan and the ARDENTE piano and violin duo. In 1999 he began work as teacher of the violin in the Music School Complex in Poznań. Since then he has been preparing numerous talk shows and concerts to promote the school. He also organises music and theatre workshops during the summer.

In 2005 he passed his advanced qualifications teaching exams and in September of 2006 he became the head of the String Instruments and Guitar Section at the Secondary State Music School. His students participate actively in master classes, and in national and international competitions. His students are laureates of such competitions as the H.W. Ernst and Karol Szymanowski International Competitions in Wrocław, the Stanisław Hajzer Bach Competition in Zielona Góra and the “Young Paganini” National Competition in Legnica.
