Plamena Mangova studied with Marina Kapatsinskaya at Sofia State Music Academy in Bulgaria

and at the Queen Sofia Higher Music School in Madrid with Maestro Dmitri Bashkirov. She also worked with Abdel-Rahman El Bacha at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Belgium. She participated in many masterclasses. She is laureate of the Juventus Festival in France and of  important international piano and chamber music competitions.

In 2007 she won the Second-Prize of the Queen Elisabeth Competition and embarked on an international career, performing in the most prestigous concert hall all over the world, coopereting with such orchestra as: BBC Philharmonic Manchester, Tokyo Philharmonic, English Chamber Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Luxemburg Philharmonic, National Orchestra of Belgium, Petersburg Symphony Orchestra under many appreciated conductors. Her musicality was acclaimed at major festivals – i.e. at Verbier Festival & Academy, La Folle Journée in Tokyo and in Nantes, at the International Piano Festival La Roque d'Anthéron, Sommets Musicaux in Gstaad, Montpellier, etc.

A keen chamber music player, she had performed with some of the greatest artists – Maria João Pirès, Augustin Dumay, Boris Berezovsky, Dmitri Makhtin, Alexander Kniazev, Jian Wang, Kyoko Takezawa, the Michelangelo String Quartet and Ysaÿe String Quartet.

Plamena Mangova recorded a few CD (among others : Prokofiev's complete works for violin and piano with  Tatiana Samouil and Shostakovitch's musical diptych). They were awarded the Superfonic Prize or Diapason d'Or de l'Année.

She was invited to give masterclasses in several occasions - in Spain, South Africa, Japan, Belgium (Chapelle Musicale Reine Elizabeth) - and in Bulgaria (Sofia Academy).
