dr Piotr Kępiński studied at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk under the guidance of Professor Katarzyna Popowa - Zydroń. After graduation he also studied with Wojciech Świtała at the Post-graduate Piano Course and with Kevin Kenner in master courses in Krynica. Kępiński is a laureate of a Special Semi-finalists’ Award at the 15^th International Piano Competition in Monza (Italy). He has accompanied violinists at the 12^th Henryk Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań, garnering top notes from the critics. He has received two diplomas (Poznań, 2003 and 2008) at the Jan Rakowski Viola Competition for “exceptional contribution to the artistic merit of the competition performances”.

Kępiński was the official pianist of the 13^th Wieniawski International Violin Competition in Poznań. He has worked together with many renowned musicians, including Jadwiga Kaliszewska, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Antoni Cofalik, Bartosz Bryła, Marcin Baranowski, Vadim Brodski and Rafał Blechacz. He regularly receives invitations to perform as accompanist at international courses and competitions. In 2005 Piotr Kępiński received the title of doctor of the music arts. In 2006 he was invited by Artists International Presentation Inc. to play concerts in New York and by Global Artistic Management to perform in Seoul. His students receive awards at domestic piano competitions. He is an assistant professor at the instrumental department of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where he teaches the piano class in close cooperation with Professor Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. He has filled the position of Head of the Intra-Department Piano Chamber Music Section at the Academy since 2009.
