A graduate of Academy of Music in Kraków (Poland) with professor Andrzej Pikul (2005) and Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with eminent professor Sergio Perticaroli (the best 2008 diploma award), Sobula took several Master Classes with professor Arie Vardi from Hochschule Fur Musik Und Theater in Hanover.
The artist won the first prizes at Yamaha Music Foundation Competition in Bydgoszcz (Poland, 2005); International Piano Competition in Valladolid (Spain, 2005), Citta di Ancona, Foggia, Gorizia (Giulio Pecar), Pordenone (Luciano Gante), Sulmona and Citta di Treviso (Italy, 2003, 2004). A medallist at Maria Canals Piano Competition in Barcelona in 2001, in 2007 he received the Special Prize during the Dr. Luis Sigall International Music Competition in Vina Del Mar, Chile and a number of awards and scholarships from both national and international foundations and institutions.
Marian Sobula had his debut with Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra in the Teatro Teresa Carreno in Caracas (Venezuela) in 2008 performing Chopin’s Piano concerto No. 1. He performed in many prestigious venues all over the world. As a soloist, the artist frequently works with many orchestras. He performed during prestigious Festivals including Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival. Marian Sobula’s recordings have been broadcast by Polish Radio, Deutsche Welle, ABC Classic FM (Australia), Radio Federico Santa Maria de Chile, RAI. The artist has recorded for Polish Television and for the Lebanon TV Station TeleLumiere. Since 2009 Marian Sobula has presided over the PianoClassic Association and is the Artistic Director of the International Royal Kraków Piano Festival in Poland.
